DAY 90:

Hearts are very important to God.. While many people look on the outward appearance, make no mistake about it, God is looking at the heart!

I know that most people can quote “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” in many situations, most often when referring to someone else’s heart by the way.. However, God’s Word speaks so much more about the kind of hearts we should develop so that we can make transactions with God. One of them is the heart of integrity.

“Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee” (Psalm 25:21).

God upholds people that have hearts of integrity. They walk in innocence, simplicity, integrity, and uprightness with the Lord. Having a heart of integrity keeps you from sinning against God and causes Him to preserve you. Abimelech was a heathen, but because he was integral concerning Abraham and would not touch Sarah, God said:

“And God said unto him in a dream. Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her” (Genesis 20:6).

Despite the opinions of man, especially in this 21st century religious church, David also had the heart of integrity and experienced preservation of life. In fact, God said to Solomon:

“And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart… Then I will establish the throne of they kingdom upon Israel for ever” (1 Kings 9:4-5).

Remember, God interprets integrity from an eternal perspective and by looking at the heart not just the actions of a person. Don’t be religious and make immature and premature judgments on matters that will have you opposing God’s heart instead of agreeing with it..!!” David E. Taylor
