DAY 44:

Do you need wisdom? Have you ASKED God for it?

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5)

Many people strive for knowledge and wisdom, but neglect the urgency to get understanding.

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7)

Some people can be wise, but if they do not get understanding with their wisdom, they can do wise things at wrong times. I know that most people who are considered to be wise don’t always want to hear this truth, but it is so critical to get understanding. There are several scriptures regarding this topic. In fact, one translation says, “Though it cost all you have, get understanding..” This understanding is God’s understanding, not man’s!! Remember that God’s ways and thoughts are higher, so we must realize that going by our own understanding will always be limited and can even forfeit the wisdom we receive, if we don’t get God’s understanding!! His understanding will cost us something, maybe everything..!!
