If face to face appearances from the Lord were not important, then why did He appear to Abraham, Solomon, Ezekiel, Daniel, Isaiah, Moses, the Children of Israel, the twelve disciples, Paul on the road to Damascus, Mary Magdalene, John on the Isle of Patmos, 500 brethren at one time, and many others? When Jesus said, “Blessed is he who has not seen and still believes…” He was not denying or saying face to face visitations weren’t real or important… They are vitally important! That statement was a personal rebuke to Thomas who had already seen and heard Him face to face for three years! The Lord wants to visit you face to face! You can have this with Him! Don’t let 21st century religious devils limit your pursuit of intimacy and relationship with Him!

Abraham

“And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him,” (Genesis 12:7).

Solomon

“In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee,” (1 Kings 3:5).

Ezekiel

“And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake,” (Ezekiel 1:27-28).

Daniel

“I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him…” (Daniel 7:22-23).

Isaiah

“In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple,” (Isaiah 6:1).

Moses

“And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle,” (Exodus 33:11).

Children of Israel

“And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night,” (Numbers 14:14).

Disciples of Christ

“Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen,” (Mark 16:14).

Paul

“And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest…” (Acts 9:3-5).

Mary Magdalene

“Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils,” (Mark 16:9).

John the Disciple

“And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters,” (Revelation 1:13-15).

500 at Once

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep,” (1 Corinthians 15:3-6).
