A gar is a prehistoric-looking long, slender fish with a long jaw and many sharp
teeth.

Positive: Gars are not very fast, but they are a dominant predator. Dreaming of a gar
could represent strength. As Samson said, “With the jawbone of a donkey I have slain a
thousand men,” gars’ strength comes from their jaws. Dreaming of a gar could symbolize
one’s strength.

Negative: Gars are known for their scales that act as a protective armor. Dreaming of a
gar with something wrong with its skin could represent that you are not wearing the full
armor of God and are spiritually disadvantaged.
