Positive:  Dreaming of a dog that is a personal pet may represent someone dear to your heart, or something or someone you cherish. It could also represent a close companion or friend.

Negative: Dreaming about dogs could represent a group of individuals that are foolish or unbelieving. If dogs are barking at you that could mean individuals are speaking against you or attacking you with their words. Biting dogs can represent dissension, hypocrites, an attack against God’s work, returning to sin, or accusation.
