DAY 57:

“Loving Our Enemies like Jesus does!

“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out,” (John 6:37).

In John, we see how amazing and deep Jesus’ love goes. He did not cast Judas out, He did cast demons out, but not people. The Lord allowed people to walk away from Him and stop following, like the seventy, but He did not cast them out. Jesus visited me and shared this revelation that completely changed my heart. “

From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him, (John 6:66).

After seeing how Jesus loves, I saw how I didn’t love my enemies the way Jesus loved His. I put people out and dismissed people when they betrayed me. However, in this moment, Jesus taught me that He never put anyone out of His ministry. You see, this is the character of Christ! He promises to never reject us.

As a young Christian, I saw other leaders who put people out for betrayal, and I really thought doing that was acceptable, until Jesus came to me and I learned His way and matured in His love. I  became so brokenhearted, repentant, and full of godly sorrow for the people that I mistakenly treated the wrong way.

It is not until we mature in the love of Christ that we can identify where we are operating opposite of His character. In the world, it is normal, encouraged, and acceptable to expose, but in the Kingdom, love covers!!

Think about it, for three and a half years, Jesus never revealed who His betrayer was… even though He knew from the time He chose His disciples. That is great love! I really thought I knew how to love my enemies until Jesus shocked me through this visitation and showed me how I did not.

My prayer is that you let God develop in you the character and love of Christ, so you will not make the same mistake that many in the Church are still making today, by following the wrong pattern and mistreating your enemies. It is time to mature in God, and follow His pattern of LOVE, concerning our enemies..!
