“Speaking in Tongues is a Gift of the Spirit. Controlling Your Tongue is a Fruit of the Spirit!!

One of the greatest, wisest, and most rewarding things we can do, is not just speak in tongues, but to develop and master love, as well as the fruit of the Spirit! Over the years, I have seen many religious people speaking in tongues, however, with the same tongue, I have seen them destroy people with premature judgments, accusations, and condemnation.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23).

You can have a gift without fruit.. Gifts are without repentance and therefore can be deceiving, if you do not develop the heart of love and operate in the fruit of the Spirit. Just because you think or discern a thing, does not mean it is time to speak it. In John, Jesus had more to say, but at that time He could not, because they were not ready to hear it.. (John 12-14).  Do not rely on your gift, or yourself to tame your tongue, or you will fail miserably and hurt many that you have been called to help and bless. Now, don’t take things out of context and think that because something that was said hurts the flesh, it is not God… He brings conviction that leads to repentance, so people can change and become all they are meant to be!! When you mature in love, you will gain more understanding in this area!!
