DAY 58:

“Learning the priorities that Jesus has for you!

“Come unto Me… Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart,” (Matthew 11:28-29).

Do you know what Jesus wants you to learn, as a first priority when you come to Him, not a last? He wants you to learn His heart and the character of who He really is. Sadly, many saints, myself included, don’t always pursue the Lord’s first priorities.

One of the first instructions Jesus gives us, is to learn of Him by considering His heart of meekness and lowliness. How can we really follow Him, if we don’t study and learn His heart? His character? His personality? Most tend to chase after the outward demonstrations of God’s power when they first come to the knowledge of salvation, but we see by this scripture, that the Lord wants us to learn His heart first! After all, He is a heart man!!

Many people spent years preaching and teaching the gospel, could be much further along and at greater places with God, if they studied the heart of God when they first came to Him! Jesus told me this revelation face to face in a visitation early in my walk with Him. He had to come to me and correct me, because I spent so much time learning and focusing on other things about the Lord, rather on His heart. I could have been much further myself, if I understood Jesus’ purpose for telling us to study and learn the nature of His heart when I first came to Him.

When you are a young Christian, you want to study and learn other things about Jesus, the things that seem more exciting.. instead of focusing on His heart. Our flesh is more alive than anything when we are initially saved, therefore, we gravitate to the seemingly more sensational and exciting things of God, rather than on His meekness and lowliness!!

Many have been “saved” for years, and still have not studied or learned the heart of meekness and lowliness, and are missing the first priority that Jesus gave. I pray that you will find the hunger to pursue His meekness and lowliness, and truly find rest, as you take His yoke upon you and really learn from Jesus..!”
