DAY 261:

“Offended people can’t be real team players, because EVERYTHING always ends up being about them. God wants to free people from their offenses, but many can’t seem to live without them. Therefore, they stay miserable and find other offended people so they can feed and breed more offense. They use their offense to build a wall around themselves but are blinded to the truth that will set them free. In fact, their hearts become so hard they do not even think they need to repent or be set free (2 Timothy 2:24-26).

Taking offense displeases God and the root of offense is the sin of pride. It bears fruits of resentment, bitterness, and strife. Offense opens the door wide open to the devil and subtly grants him access to your heart and character.

“A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle,” (Proverbs 18:19).

My question is, when will we become loyal to the Crown of Christ and denounce this prideful snare that is running rampant in our churches?! When will we stand staunchly and proclaim that offense will not find the company it seeks in the house of God and evict it?! The father kicked Lucifer out of Heaven for his wickedness and pride.. Why are we settling for it?

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world,” (1 John 2:16).

My prayer is that the Church at large will develop a hunger so strong for love and humility, and become triumphantly victorious over pride..!”
