DAY 235:

“Don’t grow weary in ‘well’ doing…

‘Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not,’ (Galatians 6:7-9).

I am sure you have heard verse 9 quoted more times than you can count, but have you ever fully considered or inquired of its depth?

Today it is typical to hear people speaking about not growing weary, and I am not suggesting that there aren’t people who are truly doing the work and will of God WELL… However, it is clear by this scripture that God wants us to heed His warning and to not be deceived!! I see people each day that are working and they may be weary, but they are not weary in WELL doing… but more accurately, just in doing!!

Thayer’s defines ‘well’ as:
1. beautiful, handsome, excellent, eminent, choice, surpassing, precious, useful, suitable, commendable, admirable
    a. beautiful to look at, shapely, magnificent
    b. good, excellent in its nature and characteristics, and therefore well adapted to its ends
          1. genuine, approved
          2. precious
          3. joined to names of men designated by their office, competent, able, such as one out to be
          4. praiseworthy, noble
   c. beautiful by reason of purity of heart and life, and hence praiseworthy

          1. morally good, noble
   d. honourable, conferring honour
   e. affecting the mind agreeably, comforting and confirming

Strong’s defines ‘doing’ as:
Apparently a prolonged form of an obsolete primary; to make or do (in a very wide application more or less direct): – abide + agree appoint X avenge + band together be bear + bewray bring (forth) cast out cause commit + content continue deal + without any delay (would) do (-ing) execute exercise fulfil gain give have hold X journeying keep + lay wait + lighten the ship make X mean + none of these things move me observe ordain perform provide + have purged purpose put + raising up X secure shew X shoot out spend take tarry + transgress the law work yield.

You see, the devil works ruthlessly to deceive people from truly obeying God. They don’t really study to show themselves approved, or pursue the Lord’s heart and accurately understand what He is saying. This is how many people grow weary and give up, because they are working aimlessly according to their own understanding instead of relying on God’s direction.. Pray for an understanding and an eternal heart for the deep things of God! Call 1-877-843-4567 to agree in prayer today..!” David E. Taylor
