DAY 216:

“Sometimes God puts you in a season where the only one around to encourage you, is YOU!! No matter how hard you search for someone to encourage you in these times, you will not be able to find them, because God is drawing you to Himself where you will find divine encouragement and strength!! Friends, you can’t misidentify these seasons… most often you will be going through heavy persecution and other types of warfare that seem impossible for you to overcome alone.. and that’s why you must encourage yourself in the LORD!!

Remember David? Everything was stripped from him and his army, including their wives, family members, and property while they were away. When they returned, and after they cried until their tears dried up and their crying ceased, many of David’s men wanted to stone him. However, even in the midst of this terrible devastation, David encouraged himself in the Lord.

‘And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved… but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God,’ (1 Samuel 30:6).

Precious friends, sons, and daughters, it is time to encourage yourself in the Lord!! When people you have poured into, strengthened, encouraged, prepared, equipped, and loved – pack their bags, turn away, and leave you – it is not time to have a pity party… it is time to encourage yourself! If your family and friends misunderstand your heart and God’s will for your life and even theirs, and they become offended and betray you – it is not the time to chase after them… it is time to encourage yourself! And when the people who fought alongside you in the trenches and in the battles blame you for the loss, failure, frustrations and pain – it is not the time to have a pity party… it is time to encourage yourself in the Lord!

Too many Christians wait to be encouraged by people who are discouraged themselves.. It is time to go to the ultimate source of undefiled, untainted, and unfailing encouragement that is only found in the beauty of our faithful, loving, constant, and merciful God..!”
