DAY 201:

“Do you have a broken and contrite heart?

Many believe a broken heart is a result of another human hurting them so deeply and there is little chance they will recover or be restored. But that is not what I am talking about today.

‘The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise,’ (Psalm 51:17).

Having a broken and contrite heart before God is so important and necessary. When David was praying this, it was when he was going to God for repentance. Repentance is not just words and outward performances.. it is not condemnation but a conviction that causes us to be truthful in the inward parts.. repenting at the root, changing, and realizing that the only way to a clean heart, a right spirit, and divine joy and gladness is through Jesus our redeemer!

Friends, having a repentant heart is vital for eternity. I know many who believe they are sinless and because they have been saved for 65 years they are safe, but the Lord is clear about repenting. Salvation is not a pass to sin without accountability. It is a cleansing that grants us access to the presence and person of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and reconciles us back to the Father. Let a broken spirit and a broken and contrite heart be in you and be a witness to the beauty and joy of salvation..!”
