DAY 177:

“God’s word is flawless and forever true, He is a shield and defense for YOU!

‘Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him,’ (Proverbs 30:5).

Have you allowed distractions or “obligations” keep you from studying God’s Word for yourself? Many in the church today rely on the word that someone else study’s and preaches to replace their own pursuit. God wants a relationship with YOU!!

How weird would it be if you were in a relationship with someone, but you depended on their communication with someone else, to know who they were personally and intimately!

When you depend on someone else to pursue God for you, you will never really know how to fully trust in every Word He proclaims.. written or spoken.. and you won’t experience or recognize Him as a shield and as your defense!!

Acquaintances and deep friendships differ in that we pursue a deeper level of getting to know, understand, and trust people we are closer to. Part of getting closer to the Lord and gaining understanding is by demonstrating our love for Him through reading His Word, studying His character, and learning what He loves and what He doesn’t.

There is great power when you really know that God’s Word is forever true and pure, and that He is a shield and a buckler to YOU, regardless of who agrees or not..!”
