DAY 16:

“I love how David teaches through the Psalms. He was a man after God’s heart, and that is evident in how he ministered to the Lord. David realized that it was not enough to be outwardly presentable and acceptable before the Lord, but it is the inside that must be acceptable before Him, in order to fulfill all His will!

“… I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will,” (Acts 13:22).

A lot of religious people think this only pertains to not using curse words or vulgar speech. However, it goes further than that. God wants all of our words and the meditation of our hearts to be pleasing and acceptable to Him. If you are honest and truly search your heart to see the things you meditate on, will you find that you have ill feelings or thoughts toward your brother and sister? Your pastor? Your husband or wife? Your children?

God desires for our hearts to be pure and after His.. He is not thinking wrong thoughts about His people, He is not speaking ugly things about them, He is not gossiping behind their backs. Many in the church put on a front and appear sweet and kind openly, but behind the scenes, they speak and think things that are unacceptable before God.

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer,” (Psalm 19:14).

God can supernaturally create a clean heart within you, but you have to realize your heart needs cleaned to receive it!

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me,” (Psalm 51:10).
